Wallet, stamped leather Eastern Iran or Afghanistan; end of 12th-beginning of 13th century H: 10.1; W: 8.2 cm

The wallet has a decoration that was made by stamping the leather in a matrix (see e.g. 4/2002), after which the background around the stamped pattern was dyed dark brown. The pattern consists of arabesques populated by running four-legged animals and birds – a decoration that was also used in metalwork from Khorasan and Afghanistan from about 1200. On the back of the wallet are remnants of the leather straps that made it possible to attach the wallet to its owner’s belt.

Мне кажется внешний шов тут не совсем корректен. Я так понимаю что дело в жестковатой коже? А в оригинале, как я понял, вообще два слоя кожи с мягкой прокладкой.
А подвес там разве не по середине?

Это скорее всего грубый поздний ремонт. Взгляни на большую картинку по ссылке - нижний левый угол, лицевая половинка. Там хорошо видно что шов внутренний. Да и края внешней тесненной кожи также аккуратно загнуты внутрь и прошиты - там-же см. левый бок и низ.
